- One monochrome photograph of Babe Ruth during his 1942 visit to Nova Scotia. Babe Ruth signs autographs for a crowd of boys and men at the Wanderers Ground. Earl (Packy) Wilson is at the left of the photo.
- Narrative
- Babe Ruth made an appearance at a baseball match held in Halifax on Natal Day weekend 1942. He hit a few pitches and tossed autographed balls out to the 5000 spectators. The retired New York Yankee often vacationed in Nova Scotia, going fishing and playing golf and the man who developed Ruth’s baseball skills in Baltimore was Cape Breton native, Brother Matthias.
