What is the Histellis Collections Portal?
Histellis collections portal is a showcase of Canadian cultural and natural heritage collections, preserved in heritage institutions in Canada and around the world. It not only presents the objects, belongings, and specimens that make up these collections, but features some of the stories that bring these collections to life. A mobile-friendly website provides easy access to the public, and offers resources for researchers, curators, and communications professionals.
The Histellis collections portal is part of a broader Histellis project which includes a suite of services designed to support heritage workers in the process of collaboratively managing and sharing information about their collections. Built on strong cataloguing standards and contribution procedures, the platform is simple, efficient, and tailored to the work of documentation specialists. For more information on Histellis project, see the Histellis website.
