Description: Small figurine of Antoine Lavoisier who conducted the solar furnace experiment.

Small wooden figurine painted in beige, white, black and red. Figurine is dressed in blue and white cloth materials and is supported by blue string connected to a wooden control bar. There is also a thin black metal wire running from the figuring to the control bar.

Narrative: This is a replica of the Solar Furnace designed and used by Antoine Lavoisier for his chemistry experiments in the 18th century. Lavoisier used the focused beam of the sun to produce intense heat - solar heat would be free of combustion products that cold contaminate experiments. This replica was made by the renowned Canadian chemist, Fernando Dufour, the inventor of the Elemen-Tree or 3-D periodic table. The puppet figure of Lavoisier was made by Dufour's wife. Fernando had an avid interest in sculpting early in his career, before he became a chemist. Cette réplique du four solaire avait été conçue et utilisé par Antoine Lavoisier lors de ces expériences chimiques durant le 18e siècle. Lavoisier utilisait un faisceau lumineux du soleil pour produire une chaleur intense. La chaleur solaire n'avait aucun produit de combustions qui pourraient contaminer les expériences. Cette réplique a été fabriquée par le chimiste canadien Fernando Dufour; l'inventeur du Elemen-Tree et le Tableau Périodique 3-D.
