Small bundle of thin yellow cedar bark (cypress) stripped from yellow cedar trees on Haida Gwaii;Small bundle of thin yellow cedar bark (cypress) stripped from yellow cedar trees on Haida Gwaii by Marlene Liddle, Haida Yahgulanaas clan, Raven Moiety. Soake in water for 2-3 hours and will absorb 10x its weight in water for weaving. Stronger and smoother than red cedar. Used in traditional Haida weaving process.
