- Pair of red stroud cuffs; both are long and roughly oval in shape; decorated with beadwork in circular spiral designs. Backed and edged in white cotton cloth; blue trade cloth strips are sewn in middle with white beading at edges and in double curved motif either side of the central blue cloth strip; Northwest Coast British Columbia, Collected by Ann and Catherine Penrice, two sisters from a well known Great Yarmouth family; they went out to British Columbia as female missionaries under the special patronage of Miss Burdett Coutts, arriving in Victoria in August 1860 and were teaching at the female collegiate school a month later; both sisters were back in Great Yarmouth by 1866, when Catherine died.;Non-Haida.Young, SeanHaida Gwaii Museum22.1.2021
