Description
Wooden carving, anthropomorphic human / bird face. dark brown in colour perhaps a wooden frontlet; said to be Northwest Coast First Nations. Northwest Coast British Columbia, Kwakiutl] Kwakwaka'waku /Tlingit(?); wood peg through upper jaw for manipulation of lower jaw which is now missing; holes for suspension of lower jaw at back; a frontlet is a carved wooden crest of a clan; traces of green paint (?) can be discerned.;Non-Haida.
