- Description
- Sealskin model kayak. Seam down the middle on top. In centre, there is an opening for the hunter (see ANSFM.2013.306.3). It is surrounded by 13 mm tall threaded leather (?) on three sides and wood on the fourth, back side. On bottom, there is a handwritten ink label on a white sticker that says 'KAYAK. ENNKAPAOYUK PAMEOLUK. CORAL HBR. 1969.' There is also a small circular sticker '69.' Bottom is worn and slightly discoloured. On top, there are 5 thin leather (?) straps, three of which hold down the 3-barbed harpoon (see ANSFM.2013.306.2). Attachments seem secure. In between the back two straps is a black two-pronged attachment. It is similar to the straps but has a different texture; may be wood. Two prongs are tied together at top. Whole kayak is scuffed but in overall good condition.
